Donation Policy
Dog rescue and animal welfare are very important causes at For Love of a Dog. Most of our own pets are rescues and we believe in giving back.
Animals, especially dogs are a passion of ours and it is important to us the For Love of a Dog do more than make money for ourselves. Since we began creating animal themed jewelry, we set aside a portion of our work to donate to pet charities. Now our partner program is a way for others to participate as well.
For Love of a Dog belongs to and supports several animal welfare and rescue groups. We list dog rescue and dog breed organizations on our site. We promote rescue and animal welfare groups's events on our Pet Events calendar, as well as on our Talking Dogs blog. We offer rescue and animal advocacy organizations the opportunity to partner with us as an affiliate for fundraising.
For Love of a Dog receives many requests for donations daily. While we're certain that all are very worthy causes and events. we are a small one woman business and we're simply not able to honor all requests. Because of the sheer volume of donation requests, we've created this policy.
For inclusion as a resource on our web site:
- All rescue, breed and animal welfare groups are welcome to submit their (brief) information to obtain a link as a resource on our site.
- If your group has a small banner in jpg or gif format, please contact us and we'll be glad to include it.
For inclusion in our Pet Events calendar and possible mention in our Talking Dogs blog:
- Any pet related organization is welcome to submit information.
- Please submit your event information including pertinent dates, times, admission fees, and so on, in as much detail as possible.
To request a donation from For Love of a Dog:
- Any animal rescue organization is welcome to submit a donation request.
- We must receive your request at least three months in advance.
- Your organization must be a registered non-profit. We do not make donations to individuals.
- Your organization must place a link to for Love of a Dog on your web site. Please contact us for banner and/or text link information.
- We do not grant requests for cash donations. Any donation made by For Love of a Dog will be one of our products or a gift certificate.
Please note: Due to the volume of requests, you may not receive a reply to your donation request unless we respond affirmatively.
